Description
The ability to read research papers quickly and efficiently is indispensable for postgraduate studies. However, many students struggle to read and understand research papers, thus hampering their rapid progress on postgraduate programs. Given the huge number of research papers postgraduate students are required to read during their program, this often leads to frustrations, disappointments and abandonment of the program in some cases. Surprisingly, Universities and supervisors hardly teach students this rudimental, but important art. Against this backdrop, this course is developed to teach students how to read research papers effortlessly, quickly and efficiently in a method known as the four-sieve reading approach, which is a goal-oriented method of reading. This method has helped me and thousands of postgraduate students to read research papers effortlessly, quickly and effectively. Haven authored several textbooks and research papers in chemistry in a short period of time, all of which would have been impossible without the ability to read tons of research papers quickly and efficiently, I can say unequivocally that this method works. My goal is to teach you this method in the course. Each lecture has an activity to practice what has been taught. Although any postgraduate student can benefit from this method, it will be more beneficial to those involved in experimental work in science, e.g., in chemistry, physics, biology and engineering.
