Description
After completing this course you’ll be able to color any kind of gemstone in any color or size. We’ll cover amber, pearls, opals, cabochons, various precious gems, and of course diamonds. I will teach you the importance of gem cuts and structure, and how that effects your coloring. You will practice on my line drawings of gemstones, and we’ll discuss different styles of line drawing as well. This course is in four long lessons divided into short videos. Lesson one deals with iridescence, translucency and luster.Lesson two is all about cabochons and precious vs semi-precious gems.Lesson three dives into cut gems of various shapes and colors.Lesson four is the grand finale with diamonds. I’ve taught this course live and my students produced splendid results, so now I’m excited to share it with you. Please follow the lessons in order. They are built one upon another. Taking lessons out of order may be confusing.Don’t forget to check the resource section in your lessons for color charts, color guides, practice pages, and gift coloring pages. As a former gem stone appraiser and a current professional artist, it is my absolute pleasure to teach this very detailed course. I’ll see you in class.
