Description
Do you want to know more about the human body? Would this skill support you in your job? Give you the edge in being more knowledgeable? In this course I provide an overview of human anatomy and physiology for insurance assessors and insurance brokers who work with medical or health related insurance products. No medical insight or previous medical training is required to understand the terms and explanations in this course as the intention of the course is to equip you with a basic understanding of the different parts of the human body and how the human body functions. In gaining this understanding, the foundation for understanding disease is laid. In the anatomy section we look at how the human body is organized and how different parts or areas of the body are labelled. Examples of how these labels are relevant to insurance polices or claims assessment are shared to deepen your understanding of this subject and show you how medical terminology is used by medical professionals.Next we explore every area of the body and all the structures and organs associated with each area of the human body. This understanding is required before we move on the physiology section which explores different body systems and the functions of each system. A body system is made up of organs and structures working together for a specific reason. If we are able to understand how the human body functions and know what categorized as normal function then abnormalities and malfunction can be easily understood. This is demonstrated when we discuss the diseases, conditions and injuries associated with the different body systems. The relevance of these new learnings to insurance policy and claims are highlighted throughout the course and summarized in the final section of the course.
